For "square9" Graham has photographed different communities
(originally within Bristol), producing images of buildings, signs, street furniture
and views - capturing the character of each neighbourhood.
A photographer in Bristol for 20 years, Parish says the idea originally
came from a long-standing interest in communities and the distinctive
features that characterise one neighbourhood from another. Urban themes
are a new direction for Parish. His commercial work includes
advertising projects for large organisations and also the documentation
of aspects of rural life and landscapes. He was one of the contributors
to the South West Protected Landscape Forum's regionally touring
photography exhibition, "ANOTHER VIEW", with images of the Mendip &
Quantock Hills. Also commissioned by "Destination Bristol" to
produce new images of Bristol & one of the 56 artists selected to
contribute a piece of work (in Graham's case the 7 of hearts) for an unusual deck of
cards called 'The Bristol Pack'
